Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How safe are the cleaning methods of Green N Clean?

A: Our cleaning methods are among the safest and most effective available. We take not only your carpets into consideration, but your health and safety as well. None of our cleaning supplies contain harsh chemicals.

Q: Who typically moves the furniture prior to cleaning?

A: This will depend on who you are using to have your carpets cleaned. At Green N Clean we are more than happy to make things easy for you by moving items such as couches, chairs, and tables. Liability issues prevent us from moving heavy objects like pianos and entertainment centers however.

Q: Is it true that carpet manufacturers don't recommend I have my carpets cleaned?

A: No it isn't. As a matter of fact, almost all carpet manufacturers today recommend having your carpet professionally cleaned at least once a year, preferably twice. The constant foot traffic on your carpets and the soil and outside elements that it brings cause abrasion that is breaking down your carpet's fibers. A good rule of thumb is that the more foot traffic your carpets receive, the more often they will require cleaning. Having your carpets professionally cleaned will prolong the life of your carpets, in addition to making your occasional vacuuming much more effective.

Q: What if I have hardwood flooring under my carpets? Will the cleaning process damage them?

A: No it won't. At Green N Clean we use a special cleaning process that will not get the backing of your carpet wet at all. This being the case, you can always be certain that your hardwood flooring underneath is safe.

Q: Can you get rid of the pet odors in my carpeting?

A: Yes this happens to be one of our specialties. Many carpet cleaners struggle with pet odors however. While having a pet can be a great asset to your life, the messes they make can be detrimental to your carpeting. If you have a cat or a dog and they urinate on your carpet, the smell can be very difficult to remove because it seeps all the way through the carpeting and sometimes even into the padding. This promotes bacteria growth, and can also cause the coloring of the carpets to change. If you are having pet odor problems in your carpets be sure to give Green N Clean a call.
